Alison is a classically trained singer and has been studying singing for many years. Since 1990, she has taken part in numerous Feile Lumni, Feis Maith, and Sligo Feis competitions. She has won many of these competitions such as The Soprano Open Solo, Operatic and Songs From The Shows.

Alison gets her love of singing from her mother, Olive Cowpar a much respected and renowned Limerick based soprano and singing teacher.

Following in her mothers footsteps, Alison also teaches singing in Adare. Co. Limerick and in the University of Limerick. Voice training and singing lessons are available on a one to one basis and can be booked by ringing Alison on 087-9952605 or going to the contacts page.

Alison is founder member of the Limerick Songsters, a group of eight soloists who are well known for their wonderful concerts in the Belltable Theatre, Limerick, Friarsgate in Kilmallock, Excel in Tipperary, Dunamass in Portlaoise, Thurles and many other venues across the country.

The Songsters pride themselves on their eclectic mix of songs, singing anything from grand opera to operetta, songs from musicals and shows old or new. They are much appreciated by the audiences of the Georgian House in Pery square where they sing on a regular basis. Indeed, they performed for its prestigious opening by the President Mary McAleese.

Alison has appeared with the Cecilians and Tops Odyssey Revisited, Broadway 2 and many other shows.

Alison is an experienced wedding soloist and has sung with a variety of instruments including violin, harp, flute, organ and string quartet.
